Counselling and Psychotherapy
Bougainvillea Therapy & Advocacy Service provides a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space to help individuals navigate emotional, behavioural, and life challenges. Therapy is tailored to each person's needs and supports improved wellbeing, emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and coping skills.
Support is available for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions, disability-related challenges, carer stress, and other mental health concerns.
Using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including CBT, ACT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and Psychotherapy, individuals are supported to better understand themselves, develop practical strategies, and create meaningful and lasting positive change.
Advocacy Support
Helping individuals, families, and carers understand their rights, access services, and navigate complex systems with confidence. Support includes NDIS access and reviews, service coordination, education and housing advocacy, crisis planning, and connecting with community supports. Bougainvillea works alongside clients to ensure their voice is heard, their needs are understood, and they can access the supports needed to achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing.
Behaviour Support Assessment and Intervention
Providing person-centred, evidence-based assessment and intervention to understand the reasons behind behaviours of concern and develop practical strategies that improve safety, wellbeing, independence, and quality of life. Services include Functional Behaviour Assessments, Behaviour Support Plans, skill development, caregiver training, and collaborative support across home, school, and community settings to promote positive and sustainable outcomes.
